The brave and courageous Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani for the first time in the history of Pakistan army took part in an air operation against militants.

On March 24 The Washington Post quoted a Cent com adviser as saying that Pakistan could collapse within six months and if that happened it would ‘dwarf all the crises in the world today’. Tens of thousands of children were not vaccinated because militants in the affected areas had opposed the vaccination campaigns. This is thought to have contributed to the 117 polio cases reported in 2008, a sharp increase on the 32 reported in 2007. A loud explosion has been heard near the office of Rescue-15 here on Saturday.

Two policemen were killed after a young man carried out a suicide attack against Rescue 15, a police helpline unit, in the federal capital on Saturday. At least four other policemen were injured. The attack on the Rescue 15 in Sector G-8, 10 days after the one in Lahore last month, took place around 8.35pm, barely 24 hours after a bomb blast in a mosque in Dir, NWFP.  Read more...
