Just a week after Pakistan team has won the T20 World cup, PCB chairman Ijaz Butt has disbanded the national senior and junior selection committees with immediate effect. Bob Woolmer, a former England batsman, was found unconscious in his hotel room in Jamaica a day after Pakistan’s shock defeat to minnows Ireland in the 50-over World Cup in the Caribbean in 2007. He was rushed to hospital but later died. Lalit Modi, the Champions League chief from India has declared that Pakistan is not a part of the seven-nation spectacle because their players cannot travel to India due to government restrictions.

Pakistan cricket is bracing for yet another controversy after enigmatic fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar decided to lead the Islamabad Leopards in the domestic Twenty20 Cup despite a skin infection that ruled him out of Pakistan’s World Twenty20 squad.
