Help them , donate for them to rehabilitate and reconstruct a better Pakistan ahead. Rehabilitation of the displaced people is a huge challenge which require collective national efforts and help of the international community.

Over two million internally displaced persons (IDPs) are set to return home from today, the NWFP government has also allowed the IDPs living outside the camps to go back to some areas in the district of Swat. The convoys of the IDPs would be streaming in the beautiful valley amid tight security arrangements, backed by military gunship helicopters. The security is aimed at avoiding any untoward incident during the IDPs’ return.

After 9/11 and since last few years Pakistan had been on a roller coaster ride of crisis after crisis. We are paying the price of being the ally of US against war on terrorism although being a victim of the same. The terms Al Qaeda, Taliban, militants are now a nightmare for the world but why they all are hiding only in Pakistan? Osama is always searched in Pakistan; Afghan war can’t be conducted without our help than why only we are the sufferers, while we are the victims also?

Tens of thousands of children were not vaccinated because militants in the affected areas had opposed the vaccination campaigns. This is thought to have contributed to the 117 polio cases reported in 2008, a sharp increase on the 32 reported in 2007. So far in 2009 12 new cases have been reported, compared to seven by the same date in 2008, according to data maintained by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

IDPs Camp
The total number of internally displaced families has reached 344,143 according to NWFP Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain, adding this meant there were over 2.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).
