After 9/11 and since last few years Pakistan had been on a roller coaster ride of crisis after crisis. We are paying the price of being the ally of US against war on terrorism although being a victim of the same. The terms Al Qaeda, Taliban, militants are now a nightmare for the world but why they all are hiding only in Pakistan? Osama is always searched in Pakistan; Afghan war can’t be conducted without our help than why only we are the sufferers, while we are the victims also?

Recently Dawn reported that Mustafa Abu al Yazid, the leader of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan is hoping for Pakistan army’s defeat against the on going war to flush out Taliban from NWFP.

‘We expect that the Pakistan Army would be defeated (in Swat) … and that would be its end everywhere, God willing,’

It was also said by a top leader of Al Qaeda on TV that if it were in a position to do so, Al Qaeda would use Pakistan’s nuclear weapons in its fight against the United States. America had shown its concerns over the matter in last month when Diana Milbank wrote an article in Washington Post. In which it was clearly reflected that US would seize control over Pakistan’s nuclear weapons in case Islamists came close to doing so.

‘God willing, the nuclear weapons will not fall into the hands of the Americans and the mujahideen would take them and use them against the Americans,’ Mustafa Abu al Yazid said in an interview with Al Jazeera television.

Americans want to seize Pakistan’s nukes to get themselves protected from another possible 9/11 while Al Qaeda wants to have access to the nukes to use it against America, cream of the sandwich is Pakistan.

Government has to be daring enough to sustain democracy and sovereignty of Pakistan. Pakistan army’s operation in Swat ought not to be delayed and finalized soon to avoid any further crisis as the intentions of Al Qaeda as well as America are not in favor of Pakistan.
