In pursuit of bringing motor sport to Pakistan, Pakistan Racer Hunt 2009 talent hunt campaign has been launched. Trials for the massive nationwide talent hunt will be held in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The aim is to bring motor sport to public attention, identify young talent and just give everyone a chance to become part of this sport and enjoy with their family and friends at an extremely affordable rate.
This will be an annual feature and 10 drivers will be selected every year for training and development from across Pakistan. Pakistan’s Aleem Sarwar Dar, the look a like of Waqar Younus was awarded the Umpire of the Year award 2009 at the annual ICC awards in Johannesburg. A French Dr Vincent Ioos, who specializes in critical care medicine & served for three years in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ Intensive Care Unit (ICU), will be accompanied in the 10,000km Islamabad-Paris trip by one of his colleagues from Pims, Dr Haroon Khan, as well as Salman Rashid, an IT expert. He will be returning home next month, driving a truck art-adorned 1974 Beetle dubbed Foxy Shahzadi to celebrate Pakistan’s artistic and cultural potential; and promoting Pak-French friendship.  Read more...
